We are sad to report that while Scott was working with one of his other students, Scott had the opportunity to examine a horse's hoof "up close". *Really* up close. To the tune of a lacerated liver, broken ribs, and a bruised lung. We are extremely happy to report, however, that Scott is doing fine (well, as "fine" as one can be with that laundry list of injuries) and he's still intending to participate in the show - however, to what extent remains to be seen and will be adjusted accordingly. Everyone at the Rescue - and we think we can speak for the other trainers as well - wish Scott a speedy and restful recovery!

Being that I am currently living on and working from the Carson/Holley farm, Diesel is at the same farm with Amigo. Actually, they have been constant companions since arriving.
We had to work through some confidence issues when he first arrived, but responds well to kindness and his confidence has grown considerably. Diesel seeks out human attention and interaction and his sweet personality makes it easy to give him lots of TLC.
Diesel is very intelligent and learns quickly when he is kept focused. Several weeks of ground work preceeded him to being started under saddle. With the ground work concluded, he has been under saddle for nearly three weeks and is doing great. He's been riding off the farm solo and with other horses; riding roadside and trail riding on the local public trails as well as arena training. Diesel is light and responsive to leg and rein cues and will be started in a bit soon.
He is a kind willing horse without any pretense or malice. I've enjoyed my time with him greatly so far and looking forward to watching him progress even further in the coming weeks. I promise to do better at posting updates on Diesel's progress - I hope the rest of the trainers in the Challenge are enjoying their horses as much as I am enjoying Diesel.

About Diesel: Diesel, foaled in 2004, is a gelding that came to us with a really icky wound on his rear left leg (sorry about the technical description). He's since had surgery on the wound and has recovered nicely. Even with his wound, he was a fine, well-mannered young fellow while he was resting in rehab.
To get in touch with Scott regarding Diesel, or to set up a time where you can meet them both, please feel free to send him an e-mail.
About Scott: Currently not available.
